Terms And Conditions

Our Terms – What You Need to Know

We aim to make working with Shields Fire Doors Ltd simple and transparent. Below is a clear overview of how we operate, so you know what to expect when booking with us:

Quotes & Pricing

  • All quotes are valid for 30 days.

  • If the job changes once we’re on-site (e.g. unexpected issues), we’ll always discuss any extra costs before proceeding.

  • Prices exclude VAT unless stated.

Bookings, Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Bookings must be confirmed in writing (email, text, or online).

  • Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

  • We don’t charge for late cancellations, but short-notice changes can impact our schedule and availability.

  • If we attend and can’t access the property through no fault of ours, a call-out fee may apply.

Site Access & Safety

  • We need safe, clear access to carry out our work.

  • If the site is unsafe or inaccessible, we may have to reschedule or apply a delay charge.

 Payment Terms

  • Invoices are due within 7 days of the issue date unless otherwise agreed.

  • Late payments may incur interest charges in line with UK law.

  • We reserve the right to withhold reports or certification until full payment is made.

Warranty & Responsibility

  • All installation work includes a 12-month workmanship warranty.

  • Manufacturer warranties apply to materials and products used.

  • We are not liable for damage caused by others or pre-existing issues.

Compliance

  • All our work follows the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and other UK standards.

  • It's your responsibility to maintain compliance after our service is complete.
